Bensley Receives First 12 Lead Heart Monitors

CHESTER, Virginia – March 16, 2007 – With funding from the Cameron Foundation and the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund, BBVRS today received four new Zoll E Series heart monitors, each equipped with waveform capnography, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, and pulse oximetry.

"We constantly look for ways to improve patient outcome and increase our ability to provide advanced lifesaving care," said Gary Frame, President of BBVRS. "As the American Heart Association standards for cardiac care focus more on information only obtained with this new equipment, our decision to adopt it became clear."

Heart monitors are devices which provide information about the muscle activity of the heart, allowing interpretation of a wide variety of illness and injury. The Zoll E Series monitors purchased by BBVRS also include the capacity for cardiac pacing and defibrillation, making them vitally important during a sudden cardiac arrest.

"The Squad thanks both the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund and the Cameron Foundation for their generous grants allowing us to purchase this life-saving equipment," added Frame. BBVRS currently seeks funding for the four additional heart monitors needed to upgrade their entire fleet.
